Patrick wanted a bike to ride off-road in the South Downs and do a few more gravel/touring trips in Europe/UK. Load carrying was a factor, with a preference for drop bars. The Karate Monkey tickled his fancy, Ritchey Coralito bars, a bar end shifter and a 12 speed MTB groupset should serve as a reliable platform for that steep SD terrain!
