Custom-built bikes are our passion. There's nothing we love more than creating a unique machine, perfect for each individual customer's riding habits.
If you're interested in commissioning a bespoke build, read through this page for some insight into the process, and some important pieces of information to be aware of before we begin.
1. Consultation & Build Brief
Pop in the shop to discuss your needs over a nice cup of coffee, swing a leg over some bikes and chat dream builds.
~ OR ~
If you can't make it into the shop, call or email with your build ideas, some references and your budget. Let us know your riding style and regular routes, too!
As a guide, most builds cost upwards of £1800, on top of the price of your selected frame. Extras like custom wheel builds, dynamo routing etc, will increase the labour cost, if required.
Please note that all items on a build (cables, headset spacers, inner tubes etc.) are chargeable. They cost us to buy in, after all!
2. Deposit & Full Build Spec
To secure your place in the build queue and complete the build sheet, we require a £300 deposit. This is non-refundable, to cover our time spent creating the full spec of your bike after your consultation.
Using a Cycle to Work voucher? The £300 deposit will be refunded once the voucher is processed.
After this step, we’ll begin working closely with you to create a complete draft of your custom build – selecting every component to suit your riding style and needs. Adjustments can be made at this stage before the build begins.
3. Final Approval
At this point, you review and approve the final design, including components, colour scheme, and any custom details.
Once the spec and final cost has been agreed, we ask for a further payment to make up a 50% deposit of the total build cost
4. The Build Begins
Our team assembles your bike based on your specifications.
If any components are outside of our usual range of stock, we'll order them in at this point and keep you up to date with expected delivery dates.
5. Collection / Delivery
Once we've completed the Pre-Delivery Inspection, your new bike is ready to ride! We'll take the final payment for the remaining balance, and arrange collection or delivery.
Don't forget to book in with us for some adjustments after 6-8 weeks!
While we strive to make the experience as enjoyable and seamless as possible, there are a few important terms and conditions to be aware of when you start on the custom-built journey with us. These help protect both you as a customer and us as a business, ensuring that everyone is on the same page throughout the process.
